A by-election for St Helier ward in Merton will take place on July 20 following the resignation of under-investigation councillor Imran Uddin.
Mr Uddin's law practice at Crescent Law, in London Road, Morden, was closed by the Solicitors Regulation Authority on May 18 due to "suspicion of dishonesty".
Candidate nominations are now open and will end at 4pm on June 23, with candidates announced on June 26.
To be able to vote, residents must be registered by July 4.
Anyone unable to visit a polling station on the day can vote by post using application forms from the council website or by contacting Electoral Services on 020 8545 3407. The application deadline is July 5.
Residents can also appoint a proxy to vote on their behalf before 5pm on July 12.
Polling cards will be delivered from June 23.
