Drug dealers who hid cannabis and cocaine in a sock and posed on social media with fake bundles of cash have been jailed.

Justin Bruney, 22, and Ricky Williams, 30, were stopped by Surrey Police officers patrolling in Tattenham Way, Tadworth, in October.

Officers searching their Mercedes found a sock filled with wraps of Class A drugs hidden behind an interior light fitting, as well as a large amount of cash.

Analysis of their mobile phones showed they were contacting others about dealing drugs. Detectives also found photos of Bruney, from Erkenwald Road, Barking, posing with large wads of cash and expensive-looking watches.

In a prepared statement, Bruney said he often posed for photos on social media with paper and real money to make it look like he was rich (pictured above) by putting £20 at the front and at the back with blank paper in the middle.

Williams, of Davidson Road, Selhurst, and Bruney both pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cannabis and cocaine.

They were sentenced at Guildford Crown Court on Wednesday, May 25. Bruney was jailed for three years and two months and Williams for three years and six months.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Preston said: “This just goes to show that drug dealing is not a glamorous lifestyle even when criminals are trying to make you believe that it is – and no one likes a show-off.

“It’s another success for our Operation Viking team who have now achieved jail sentences of more than 20 years since starting this campaign before Christmas.

“Bruney and Williams are now both behind bars which means the streets of Surrey are safer with two less dealers preying on vulnerable people.”
