Thousands of beer lovers turned out at Selhurst Park to enjoy an afternoon of beer in the sun at Crystal Palace Beer Festival.

More than 2,500 visitors were on hand to try out the 200 beers and ciders from across the country, as well as bottled beer from across the globe.

Citra Star from Anarchy Brew Co in Northumberland was awarded CPFC Beer of the Festival, while Wild Beer’s Millionaire Stout, Ilkley Brewery’s Olicana, Brixton Brewery’s Low Voltage and Fourpure’s Crystal Palace were all highly commended.

Crystal Palace legend Julian Speroni, Men Behaving Badly star Neil Morrissey and former Palace co-owner Stephen Browett opened the seventh annual festival at the Red and Blue Bar on Saturday (May 27).
Speroni also featured as a manager in the charity match for the Palace for Life Foundation, in which he went head-to-head with Eagles legend Eddie McGoldrick. The game raised more than £12,000.

Musical entertainment on the day came from The Voice finalist Lawrence Hill, All Saints Concert Band, Seattle Inc and Quella Band.

Stephen Browett said: “It was a wonderful afternoon and great to see so many familiar Palace faces getting together to enjoy our now traditional end of season party.

“The beers were expertly chose by our friends at the Cronx and another highlight was watching the Palace for Life Foundation match on the pitch.”
