Retail giant TK Maxx will create 27 new jobs when it opens its doors next month.

The US company’s new 2,173sq metre store, in Sutton High Street, will offer major label brands and appliances when it begins to accept customers from 9am on Thursday, June 15.

It will follow Poundland and start trading in the new Times Square Shopping Centre following a two-year building scheme.

The tumultuous re-development programme underwent numerous delays after the project began in January 2015 when contractors Macmillan and Wright Ltd and Longcross Construction Ltd went into administration.

A TK Maxx spokeswoman said: “We’re delighted to be opening a brand-new store in Sutton. We can’t wait for shoppers to walk through our doors and discover their own treasures.

“You never know what you might find. Pop by often, as there will always be exciting new designer finds and one-off gems for less every time you visit.”
