More arrests have been made in connection with a shooting in Darenth as officers continue to appeal for witnesses.

A man, aged 43, from Chatham, a 21-year-old man and a 32-year-old man, both from Erith, were arrested today following reports of gunshots on Monday evening in Hill Rise.

All three men, who officers believe are known to each other, were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent.

A 26-year-old man and a 30-year-old man, both from Erith, who were arrested yesterday were released on police bail until May 17 pending further enquiries.

A 20-year-old man from Folkestone was released without charge and is not being linked to the incident in Darenth.

Officers are hunting for a gold-coloured car that may have been seen driving in the Hill Rise area between 6.30pm and 7.30pm on Monday.

As the investigation continues, Kent Police said officers will be in the area carrying out searches and making enquiries.

Witnesses who might have seen guns being fired, or the gold-coloured car, or have information that could help the investigation is asked to call Detective Inspector Tristan Kluibenschadl or DS Matt Banks on 01622 654864.
