A 19-year-old man has been arrested after a 17-year-old student was stabbed to death on a Battersea estate on Sunday.

The teenager, named locally as Mohammed, known as ‘Little Mo’ was attacked and killed by a gang while cycling through the York Road estate in the early hours of the morning.

The suspect was arrested at an address in Wandsworth.

Police and paramedics were called to Ingrave Street at 1.25am on April 23, where they found the victim close to death after suffering numerous stab wounds.

He was taken to a south London hospital but pronounced dead at 2.50am.

Although formal identification awaits, officers believe they have established the identity of the deceased. Next of kin have been informed.

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating.
