A 17-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder after a brutal stabbing which left another teenager in a permanent vegetative state.
Jamel Boyce, 17, was left fighting for his life, unconscious, unable to walk or speak, and with his brain barely functioning enough to keep his heart beating, after he was stabbed in Triangle Place near Clapham Common last October.
Detectives in Lambeth yesterday (Thursday, April 13) charged a 17-year-old boy with attempted murder. He will appear in custody before Camberwell Green Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, April 15.
Two other 17-year-old boys who were arrested as part of the Metropolitan Police’s investigation remain on bail, and are due back later this month.
All other people arrested have been released with no further action being taken.
