A 17-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder after a brutal stabbing which left another teenager in a permanent vegetative state.

Jamel Boyce, 17, was left fighting for his life, unconscious, unable to walk or speak, and with his brain barely functioning enough to keep his heart beating, after he was stabbed in Triangle Place near Clapham Common last October.

Detectives in Lambeth yesterday (Thursday, April 13) charged a 17-year-old boy with attempted murder. He will appear in custody before Camberwell Green Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, April 15.
