A Croydon beauty queen is in the running to compete at the Miss GB finals.

Tina Antwi, 23 will be taking part in the Miss Great Britain pageant, where she will be competing against 40 other hopefuls.

Tina, also known as ‘Tina Charisma’, will take up a series of challenges and fundraising for the charities Strongbones and  Stop Acid Attacks before she graces the stage in South Wales in July.

The former youth parliament member says she hopes to inspire others before she starts the three day event, starting with a fundraising lunch.

She said: “I am really excited to have been chosen as a finalist for Miss Universe Great Britain this year and will be doing all that I can in the next few months to prepare.

I aim to help young people realise that beauty has a lot to do with what is on the inside and not just the outward appearance, Miss Universe is one of the biggest pageants in the world and I think it’s going to be a huge adventure as well as a lot of fun.”

The event includes an empowerment day led by one of the UK’s foremost leadership coaches; a celebration dinner with friends and family; and a catwalk show before a panel of judges from the beauty and fashion industry. The event is sponsored by Smilize, Giovanni’s Restaurants, Orchira and MaralDress.
