A burglary gang who targeted multiple homes across south east London have been jailed.

The three thieves broke into 14 homes across Bromley, Greenwich, Lewisham and Kent during the summer of 2016.

They would break in the middle of the night while their victims were sleeping and steal jewellery, handbags, electrical goods and cash.

Car keys were also stolen and the high-value cars would be driven out of the driveways of the owners by the burgling trio.

All the vehicles stolen were recovered intact and detectives were also able to reunite one victim with her late Grandmother's jewellery which had been stolen in one of the burglaries.

George Morley, 19, of Chandlers Drive in Erith pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to commit theft and was jailed for five years and six months.

Morley also pleaded guilty to one count of supplying a Class B drug and one count of being concerned in the supply of a Class B drug.

Joseph Le, 20, of Sennen Walk, Mottingham was jailed for four years and eight months after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to commit theft.

Dwaine Martindale, 19, of Framlingham Crescent, Mottingham was jailed for five years and one month, having pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to commit theft.

Detective Sergeant Gary Head from Bromley Police's CID said: “Morley, Le and Martindale are prolific criminals who targeted households across south east London in a series of high value burglaries.

“I hope seeing them behind bars will bring some peace of mind to their victims, people to whom they caused misery and inconvenience, who were left with the trauma of having their homes broken into.

“I would urge anyone with any information about criminality in their area to speak with their local Safer Neighbourhoods police team or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
