Croydon Radio will blast its last ever tunes this week, as it bids farewell to the Borough.

The much loved community based station will close after four and a half years of serenading locals with pop hits and tunes by local artists.

The award-winning station is run entirely by local volunteers, music fans and aspiring musicians, covering wide-ranging topics such as environment, teenage issues and French culture.

From April 2014: Letter to the Editor: Thank you Croydon Radio for backing local artists

The closure of the station has come after a move from Airport House after outgrowing the space in late 2016, and looking at ‘various other options’, according to a twitter feed.

Tim Longhurst and Tracey Rabbetts started the station in 2011 with the aim to celebrate Croydon. In a joint statement on the station's website, they wrote: “Its people, businesses, causes and campaigns and shining a light on the things that we love about Croydon, the things that frustrate us, make us excited for the future or proud of its people.”

Tune in for its farewell show this Friday (March 31).
