Plans to turn a bed and breakfast in the heart of the Cambridge Road estate into a late-night pub have been rejected.

Councillors rejected an application to grant the Bull and Bush Hotel, in Washington Road, permission to sell alcohol until midnight seven days a week to residents satying outside the hotel.

The hotel owners also wanted to play music until 12am, but saw the application rejected by a Licensing Sub Committee on Thursday, March 16.

Norbiton councillors Linsey Cottington and Sheila Griffin campaigned against the plans, while complaints were also reportedly made by police.

Cllr Cottington said: “This is another victory for a campaigning Labour team. I was extremely opposed to the application proposal on behalf of local residents.”
