Police closed off a major road in Croydon last night following a crash between a motorbike and a car on Purley Way.

The motorcyclist was injured, witnesses have said, and was taken to hospital as a priority following the collision shortly before 5.30pm.

Police have since confirmed the driver's injuries were not serious.

“We sent an ambulance to the scene, arriving within six minutes. We treated a patient and took them as a priority to a hospital in south London.”
