The owner of a husky dog who died after being shut in a conservatory on a hot day has pleaded guilty to animal cruelty.
Ridrigo Enrique Ribiero Dos Santos, 21, of Lillieshall Road, Clapham, admitted shutting the white husky called Nina in a glass conservatory on August 23, 2016.
A heatwave hit London in August last year, with temperatures reaching highs of over 30 degrees throughout the summer month.
Nina suffered heat stroke and died after being shut in the conservatory at the former home of Dos Santos in Dalton Avenue, Mitcham.
Dos Santos pleaded guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, February 22.
He will be sentenced at the same court on March 22.
