A large number of car and house windows in Balham have been smashed in a "spate" of criminal attacks.

Wandsworth police are investigating the series of over 30 incidents which happened on February 18.

They believe the culprits may have used a "BB-gun or slingshot".

Wandsworth Council will be "working closely" with the police to catch whoever had committed the offences.

Community safety spokesman councillor Jonathan Cook said: "Local people are obviously very concerned at this spate of drive-by attacks on property.

"I would like to reassure them that the council is fully committed to working with the police to trace those responsible and bring them to justice.

"We will be checking footage from our very extensive network of CCTV cameras to try and identify the vehicle involved and make sure that those behind these mindless and disgraceful incidents are brought to justice."
