A 21-year-old woman suffered head injuries after being hit by a car in Croydon this morning.
The pedestrian was struck in Lower Addiscombe Road near the Addiscombe tram stop, just before 4.54am.
She suffered a head injury and was treated by paramedics in the road.
The London Air Ambulance was also sent to the scene of the crash.
The London Ambulance Service (LAS) took the woman to a major trauma centre south London hospital as a priority. Her condition is unknown.
The A222 Lower Addiscombe Road was closed in both ways but has now been re-opened, according to Transport for London (TfL).
The 289, 312 and 367 bus routes were being diverted, TfL advised.
The car stopped, but the driver was not arrested, a Met Police spokeswoman said.
Police enquiries are ongoing.
