Time Out compares Kingston with a flaccid penis

Time Out magazine evoked a rather unsavoury image to describe Kingston last week in an introduction to a brief 10-point guide to the Royal borough.

Having missed Kingston out of two of its guide books to London, it stated: "Time Out did a Bobbitt and cut the flaccid penis that is the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames off the map of the capital."

Charmed, we thought, especially as the guide - billed as an "olive branch" to irate Kingstonians who complained about being overlooked - could have been compiled in 10 minutes after a brief search of Google.

And what of the penis suggestion? Their comparison of the geographical shape of the borough on the bottom edge of Greater London may be insulting but it did get us thinking.
