The family behind a pair of Michelin-starred Indian restaurants is launching a delivery service in south west London.

The Sethis, who run Michelin-starred Gymkhana and Trishna as well as award-winning Hoppers, will launch Battersea-based Motu Indian Kitchen on Monday (October 17).

With a name derived from the affectionate Hindi term for ‘Fat Man’ it will promises ‘unashamedly indulgent home style Indian food paying homage to the love of a classic Indian takeaway’ as well as the ‘dabbawalas’ who delivered packed meals to workers in Indian cities.

The latter inspired Motu’s Feast Boxes, which cost from £20 and include a classic Indian curry, biryani or mixed grills plus a selection of sides and condiments.

The meals will be delivered across south west London – including Wandsworth, Clapham, Putney and Battersea – in association with Deliveroo.

Karam Sethi said: “The dishes Motu will offer are a nod to the much loved classic British Indian takeaway dishes, delivering the same quality of food you’d expect if you were dining in a restaurant.”
