A woman was raped in an early-morning attack in Isleworth.

The 59-year-old was found in distress by a group of friends walking along James Street, Isleworth at about 3.40am.

As the group approached Inwood Park they heard "sounds that suggested someone needed help", according to police.

They climbed in and found the woman, who told them she had been raped.
