A second man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering Mohammed Hassan in Battersea earlier this month.

The 19-year-old was arrested in Richmond on Wednesday, August 17 on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. He remains in custody at a police station in east London.

Mr Hassan was stabbed to death on the Winstanley estate in Battersea on Wednesday, August 3.

Police and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service were called at 6.06pm and found the 35-year-old with a stab injury. Mr Hassan, known to his friends as Bashir, died there a short while later.

Two other men, aged 33 and 35 years old, were also stabbed in the attack.

One managed to flag down a passing ambulance, while the other made it to a south London hospital. They have both since been discharged.

A 26-year-old man was arrested in the Wandsworth area on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. He has been bailed until October.

The Metropolitan police continue their investigation and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
