Martial artists, samba dancers, singers and musicians flooded Kingston Market Place at the weekend to celebrate Rio-upon-Thames.
The one-off festival transformed the town centre into a hub of entertainment featuring live music and performances from Brazilian artists, London’s largest Samba group Paraiso School of Samba.
Festival goers also took part in a ‘mini-Olympics’ in tribute to the upcoming Rio games.
Kingston-based Brazillian marketing agency QuilomboUK organised the event.
QuilomboUK director Marcus Cabeca said: “It went really well. When people asked me how I hoped it would go what happened at the weekend was exactly how I described it.
“The weather was amazing and everyone got involved.
“The opening ceremony was completely full. We heard many great things from so many people.
“We hope to do something similar again.”
