It's official, Pokémon Go is available in the UK and trainers in Kingston are on a quest to be the very best.

Gamers have travelled across the borough, searching far and wide, for monsters to capture.

One user spotted an ice-type Jynx outside the Coronation Hall pub, as well as a Spearow near Surbiton station.

The augmented-reality game, which will be a shot of nostalgia for some and a source of total bafflement to others, sees players use their phones' GPS to track down Pokémon.

Staff at the Rose Theatre said they had to deal with an invasion of the water-type Krabby, while a coveted Squirtle was spotted outside All Saints Church.

It might be that Kingston's proximity to the Thames makes it a prime spot for capturing water Pokémon.

Twitter user @irlcatfish said he had caught a Staryu, a Poliwag and a Psyduck by the river.

Public relations worker Roisin Miller said the K4 bus was a particularly good source of Pokémon.

Landmarks can be labelled as Poké-Stops, where monsters are found in greater numbers.
