A 'zumbathon' in Tooting Leisure Centre has raised more than £4,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
The event, held on Sunday, May 22, was run by Jag Acharya whose son Sachin Gilchrist, who is three-years-old, was treated at the hospital when he contracted a deadly virus.
Dr Acharya said: "Our lives have changed forever since Sachin contracted a deadly virus from birth and led to him having three cardiac arrests and placed on life support for four months at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
"He was treated around the clock because he was so critically sick and survived against all odds."
To thank those who treated her son, Dr Acharya held a three hour dance session, led by former West End dancer Ralph Sebastian, with a raffle, and the day raised £4,500.
She called the day "fabulous".
