A man has appeared in court charged with the attempted murder of four women in a Sainsbury's car park in Hampton. 

Ethem Aydin Orhon, 66, of Deacons Walk, Hampton, was charged with four counts of attempted murder and one count of possessing an offensive weapon in the early hours of Saturday, May 21, after being arrested the day before. 

He appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on Saturday, May 21, and was remanded in custody to appear at Kingston Crown Court on Friday, June 17. 

Four women, aged 53, 62, 67 and 71, were stabbed in the car park in Tangely Park Road at around 10.30am on Friday, May 20. 

The women are still in hospital, but the condition of all four women has now been described as stable.
