Update 10.45am: Services have restarted but residual delays exist on the line.

There is no Tube service on the Northern line northbound between Morden and Moorgate because of a person on the track, Transport for London has said.

There are severe delays on the rest of the line, and tickets are being accepted on buses and Great Northern, Southern and Thameslink trains.

Emergency services were seen at Kennington station.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: "Officers were called to Kennington Underground station at 6.30am on Friday, May 13, after reports that a person had been struck by a train.

"The incident is currently being treated as non-suspicious. Medics for London Ambulance Service also attended and the incident is ongoing.

"The train involved was a northbound Northern line service."

A London Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We sent a number of resources including ambulance crews, an incident response officer and London’s Air Ambulance, arriving within seven minutes

"We treated a man at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre accompanied by a doctor from London’s Air Ambulance."

Southern warned commuters only to use Balham station if they have to because of the extra congestion - but passengers' photos showed the station was packed.
