Face painting and crafts were on the cards as families flocked to a fair to escape the heatwave on Saturday.

Stallholders sold everything from silver jewellery to handmade cards and t-shirts, with family entertainment from Reflect Productions, who dressed up in stage costume.

There were refreshments and crafty activities on offer for young artists and representations from Cardiac Risk In The Young (CRY) and Progressio, which painted children's faces for a donation.

It took place at Christ the King Church Hall in Wimbledon Park.

Emma Fenwick organised it with business partner Melissa Russell.

Ms Fenwick said: "It was really good, we were really impressed with the venue and stall-holders."

She added they wanted the monthly markets to be less stuffy and more family orientated.

The next MECraftMarkets event will be held on Sunday, June 19, at the same venue.
