A man was arrested after police found a machete near the Chaucer Centre in Morden.
Officers were called to Dore Gardens, off Canterbury Road, shortly after 3.30pm on Thursday, April 21, after receiving reports of a man with a machete.
Merton police said a man in his fifties was arrested after being detained by members of the public.
He was taken to a south London hospital for treatment to head and facial injuries. He remains in hospital but his condition is not life threatening.
Another man in his twenties was taken to hospital with a minor cut to his shoulder.
Merton police also confirmed a machete was recovered.
