Two teenage boys are in hospital after being stabbed outside West Croydon station.

They were found with knife wounds by police and paramedics called to London Road following reports of fight last night.

Witnesses described dramatic scenes as officers swarmed into the town centre, with one comparing it to a "warzone".

The victims' injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Officers were called at 6.15pm and found a teenage boy with stab injuries in nearby Derby Road.

He was taken to a south London hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.

A second boy was found nearby and was taken to hospital with a "puncture wound," said a Metropolitan Police spokesman.

Witnesses reported a large number of police officers in London Road following the stabbing and a stretch of the street between Derby Road and Sainsbury's was taped off.

No arrests have yet been made.
