A Ewell teenager with cerebral palsy raised more than £1,000 for her severe learning disabilities school as well as the spirits of sick children by donating her hair to a charity that makes wigs for cancer sufferers.

Mehmet Tok, 61, from Fresh Look hairdressers in The Broadway, Stoneleigh cut Emily’s hair in front of her class.

She is now donating it to Little Princess Trust, a Hove charity that make wigs for children who lose their hair during cancer treatment.

Emily was sponsored for her haircut and donation and has raised around £1,300 for her school.

Her mum Hazel Johnson, 48, a lawyer, said she was very proud of her daughter’s charitable achievements.

She said: "Even though she is limited herself, she has a heart of gold.

"You can see it when she does things like this.

"I am very, very proud of her."
