Croydon residents are being invited to tell their stories as part of a film project celebrating the past, present, and future of the borough.

Free workshops will be held for participants to commit their own memories of Croydon to film, as well as watching footage filmed in the borough more than a century ago.

The first Tell Your Story Workshop will take place on Saturday, October 17 at Thornton Heath Library in Brigstock Road, from 2.30pm.

No film making experience is necessary to take part, as training will be given during the workshops.

The project is a joint effort between Film London, Black Stock Films and SR Expressions, and forms part of the London-wide Make Your Own Screen Heritage initiative, a three-year effort to preserve the city' history on film for future generations.

All the footage will be kept at the London Screen Archives.

To book a place at one of the workshops, email srexpression@gmail.com or call 07598 195050 - or just turn up on the day.
