The daughter of an Old Malden councillor has followed in her father’s footsteps and collected her MBE.

Lorraine Brockhurst, 54, the daughter of Councillor David Fraser 54, was presented with the award by Prince William in a ceremony at Windsor Castle on Thursday, September 20.

Mrs Brockhurst found out in June that she would be receiving the MBE for services to HM Revenue and Customs.

The same award was given to her father two years earlier for more than 40 years in social work.

Coun Fraser said: "Lorraine sets up projects at schools for pupils to come and get work experience with Inland Revenue. She offers kids opportunities they wouldn’t otherwise get.

"She was with me when I was at Buckingham Palace so she was pretty well rehearsed."
