A heartless fraudster conned a 75-year-old woman out of £1,200 by pretending to work for her credit card company.
The woman received a call at her Wallington home last Thursday from a man who said her bank cards had been used for fraudulent purposes, and that she would be given new cards.
The woman revealed her PIN and was told her cards would be collected from her home along with any cash that could be put into another account.
Police said a man claiming to be the 'courier' later arrived at her home, in Foresters Drive, and took her money and her cards. He was described as black, 6ft, slim and wearing dark clothes.
Now suspicious, the woman called her bank and realised she had been scammed.
Her cards were stopped, but she lost £1,200 in cash.
Anyone with information about the scam should call Sutton police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
