Parents left disappointed when Cobham Free School announced a site for its senior school some 20 minutes away, have now been told children could be able to use a school bus service, writes Albertine Brandon.

The bus service is anticipated to run from Cobham Free School in Portsmouth Road to the temporary West Molesey school site in Hurst Road.

The temporary school was set up after planning permission was denied for new classrooms at the current site.

Last month the Comet reported problems faced by the site being some distance away.

A spokesman from Cobham Free School said: "We are of course delighted that such an excellent temporary solution has been found for us in such a short space of time and are currently exploring options for a bus service between the sites.

"We anticipate that the bus will run between the Old Police Station building on the Portsmouth Road, Cobham, to the Hurst Park site in West Molesey and will be in touch with all our parent group once we have further details to share."

The temporary school site in West Molesey will be home to the senior department for the next two years from September.
