A dog is believed to have died in a house fire in Carshalton that required around 30 fire fighters to put out.
Fire services were called at 4.37pm on Sunday, July 5, and five fire engines and around 30 fire fighters attended the blaze on Home Close, Carshalton.
A man was able to escape the burning property before the fire brigade arrived, but it is understood a dog inside the house died.
Crews from Wimbledon, Sutton, Wallington, Mitcham and Norbury fire stations were then able to bring the fire under control by 6.33pm.
The house was left with large hole in its roof and its windows and doors have been boarded up.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
