A road rage incident boiled over into violence when a woman hit a man in the face.
Both drivers had got out of their cars in Brighton Road, Purley, and were arguing when the assault happened.
The man sustained minor injuries.
The incident happened at about 8am on June 2 but the Metropolitan Police has only just appealed for the public’s help.
Detective Constable Stephen Hall, from Croydon CID, said: "We are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or has any information.
"It may be someone recorded what happened on their phone; if so, we would urge them to please contact us."
The cars involved were a white Vauxhall Insignia and a blue Vauxhall Corsa.
Anyone with information is asked to call the police on 101, quoting reference number 3816061/15 or, to remain anonymous, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
