Come to Croydon for the cycling and stay for the good-looking half-naked men seemed to be the message from the organisation tasked with promoting the borough to businesses earlier today.
From Wednesday: World-class cyclists take on 'Croydon carnage' with Matrix Fitness GP Series and Pearl Izumi Tour
Two pictures of a topless man were posted on the Develop Croydon Twitter account and then swiftly deleted.
Before someone realised their mistake, one of the account’s admiring followers, Niki Devlin, commented: "wrong account maybe".
The garbled text with the pictures suggests the account might have been hacked.
The picture comes a day after a news story was posted on the developcroydon.com website with the headline Croydon riding high after cycle race.
It includes the words: "The event got people talking about Croydon in a fresh light as, what the experts described as a ‘hugely-technical’ circuit produced a thrilling evening’s racing."
We have chosen to spare the naked man's blushes.
A Develop Croydon spokeswoman declined to comment.
