Kingston Law School is celebrating 50 years of teaching some of the best legal minds in the country.

The school was set up in 1965 and the faculty is now home to almost 5,000 students.

Professor Penny Darbyshire said: “It is a well known law school with a fantastic reputation in legal skills.”

Acting head of Kingston Law School Pamela Sellman praised the school’s alumni and their involvement with the anniversary celebrations.

She said: “We have a very active alumni. They are involved with the 50th anniversary celebrations this year. Some of them are doing guest lectures and they are willing to mentor our students.

“They have been very active because they remember the good time they had at Kingston.”

The school, based at Kingston Hill campus, is putting on a number of events to celebrate the anniversary, culminating in a 50th birthday party on June 17.

LLB law student Karina Sadana said: “At the moment we are all trying to participate in as many events as we can because we think the 50th anniversary of the law school is a great event. It will give us an opportunity to promote the school and show how good we are.

“I personally feel very proud of being a Kingston student.”
