Remember, remember the fifth of November - and the second, sixth, seventh and eighth.

Because of when it falls this year, on a Wednesday, most fireworks events are later in the week, with the big Epsom event at Hook Road Arena on Saturday, November 8.

This features a funfair, a huge bonfire, as well as the biggest fireworks show ever staged since the event began in 1971 with more than 500 aerial shells and 250 Roman candles.

It is Run by 7th Epsom (Methodist) Scout Group who have spent months planning the event which costs around £25,000 to stage.

The hugely popular event raises money for a fistful of charities including local Scouts and Guides, Riding for the Disabled, the Children’s Trust at Tadworth, St John's Ambulance; the Girls Brigade and the Round Table.

The gates open at 5:30pm and the display will begin at 7:30pm.

The funfair will be running in conjunction with the fireworks and bonfire as in previous years.

Tickets are available for purchase for £5 online and at ticket outlets or they can be purchased on the night for £7.50. Under 5s go free.
