A Battersea-based cancer charity has received a £2,000 cash boost.

Your Local Guardian:

The chief executive of the Saturday Hospital Fund presented Paul’s Cancer Support Centre, in York Road, with the money on Tuesday, September 30.

The money will go towards the centre’s home visiting service which is for people who are seriously ill, in many cases reaching the end of their lives and who are confined to their homes as a result of cancer and its treatment. The charity was founded in 1983 and its Battersea community centre is open 9am to 5.30pm every weekday.

People affected by cancer are able to access a wide range of support such as advice, groups and classes, one-to-one counselling and complementary therapies such as reflexology and massage. For more information about the charity visit paulscancersupportcentre.org.uk.
