Twickenham is one of the most expensive places to have a funeral in the UK, figures have revealed.
The average cost for a burial funeral in the town is £6,539, compared with the national average of £3,933.
The figures, revealed in the National Funeral Cost Index, showed Twickenham to be the fourth most expensive place to buried in the UK.
Only Beckenham, New Southgate and Putney Vale came out higher, while a burial in Amersham cost a mere £2,924.
Tim Morris, CEO of the Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management, said: "The only sustainable option is for the governments in Scotland and England & Wales to introduce legislation that permits the reuse of old abandoned graves."
