Two heroes came to the rescue when a car span out of control across three lanes of the A3 and came to a rest in the inside lane.

Liu Yang, 50, of Surbiton Hill Park, was almost at the Cobham turn off when her tyre blew and she nearly hit the central reservation.

The accident happened between 4pm and 4.30pm on Tuesday, September 16.

Ms Yang said it was lucky no other cars were part of the accident, considering there was a lot of traffic as the evening rush hour began.

As the car span around fully twice and headed towards the hard shoulder, Ms Yang put her foot on the brake and the car finally stopped.

Ms Yang said: "As I was calling 999, Keith and Sean came to my rescue. They were like god-sent angels that just appeared in front of me.

"They said they had stopped because they saw I was in trouble. Sean quickly helped to get the car off the road so that traffic could get back to normal, and Keith was giving his eye witness report to the police.

"They then quickly changed my blown up tyre with the temporary wheel in my boot, and advised me to drive slowly, no more than 50mph. They are my heroes."

Ms Yang said she would remember Keith and Sean forever, commenting: "I was just so grateful, so many people just drove past."
