A quartet of singing barristers were the perfect surprise to thank a law student's mum.
Benjamin Mann, 35, of Grenside Road, Weybridge was encouraged to go back to studying by his mother, Jennifer, and so to express his gratitude he organised a musical thank you.
Mr Mann said of his change of heart: "Mum sat me down and told me I should use my clever brain."
His mum helped him pursue his career change and start studying with the Open University, after previously running his own business.
As part of a new campaign run by the Open University, students have been asked to nominate friends or family who have supported their move back into study, and Mr Mann decided to nominate his mum to be surprised on August 23.
Mr Mann said: "My mum has a wicked sense of humour, I knew she'd love it."
Originally Mr Mann thought of a surprise singing quartet arriving at his mum's door to sing to her, but this idea soon developed into the singers dressing as barristers to better fit the theme.
Mr Mann's mother, Jennifer, said: "The last thing I expected to see at my door was a singing quartet. It was a lovely surprise and I'm so touched that Ben arranged this for me.
"I'm so proud of him and what he's doing."
