Squire’s Garden Centres picked up 24 accolades at this year’s Garden Centre Association awards, with the Twickenham, Hersham and Long Ditton centres triumphing.

The annual awards were judged in each region in the UK in categories appropriate to the size of their business.

The Twickenham garden centre was one of the stand-out contenders in the north Thames group, in which it earned second place for the best plant area, third place for the gift department and third place for best destination garden centre.

In the south Thames region, Squire’s Hersham was named best garden centre with a turnover of less than £4m.

It also came joint first for the best gift department and second in the best plant area, best outdoor living and creativity and innovation categories.

Squire’s in Long Ditton was also commended, coming third for the best plant area and best garden products.

Sarah Squire, deputy chairman of Squire’s, said: "We’re delighted to receive these accolades.

"The standards across the region are higher than ever this year and to be judged so highly, receiving 24 awards in total is a great honour.

"We’re especially pleased for Hersham this year taking the coveted best garden centre’ in the south Thames region for the second year running.

"All the centres have worked hard to maintain high standards across all departments and we’re very proud to see them rewarded for their continued efforts."
