Young film-makers travelled back in time to put together an ambitious detective movie.

Thirty children between eight and 18 shot the film noir around Barnes including the Olympic Cinema, Rose House and the Coach and Horses as part of Barnes Film Academy.

Course founder and head of media at the Harrodian School Sam Cullis said: "Film noir is my favourite genre of film, but recreating it proved Barnes Film Academy’s biggest challenge to date.

"I was amazed by how quickly the students took to the project and how dedicated they were to achieving a continuity of style, typical of the era.

"It was an exhausting week, but the results were well worth all the hard work."

The film will be screened in early September when the cast return back to school from holidays.
