Did you go to Dunraven School in Leigham Court Road, Streatham Hill? If you’re a former student who would like to support current students, the school would love to hear from you!

Right now, students in your old school face challenges and opportunities like those you faced when you were there. Now may be your chance to contribute to your old school, or simply to make contact with former classmates.

Dunraven is one of more than 500 state schools and colleges across Britain which has registered with the charity Future First to set up networks of former students or alumni. Future First’s vision is that every state school or college should be supported by a thriving, engaged alumni community that helps it to do more for its students.

More than 60,000 former students across Britain have already signed up to stay connected with their old school. They’re inspiring young people in a number of ways: as career and education role models, mentors or e-mentors, work experience providers, governors, donors or fundraisers.

It doesn’t matter when you left school, whether you’re in further education or employment, whether you still live nearby or have moved further away, there are still ways you can help!

Dunraven is a thriving and high-performing school boasting almost completely new buildings and the recent addition of a Primary phase to make it an all-through school for 5 to 18 year-olds.

Safras Cuffy, Director of Sixth and Assistant Principal, says that Dunraven is looking forward to building relationships with its past students: “It is very important that schools engage past students in ways that connect them with the school and their old friends. This also provides a fantastic resource for current students. We are delighted to be working with Future First, and look forward to our Alumni Association launch event here on 24th June.”

Former students can also sign up to Dunraven Alumni Association alumni scheme via the sixth form section of the Dunraven website (dunraven.org.uk) or via futurefirst.org.uk and the “Former students” link.

Association members will receive all the information about the Association Launch Event taking place in the school on June 24th.
