A ball held by Wimbledon Village Stables has raised £10,000 for charity.

The black tie event was held at the Cannizaro House Hotel in Wimbledon, and was attended by over 200 people including stables members, business people and sponsors.

Tennis star Boris Becker and TV presenter Jenny Rudall were also on the guest list.

The party went on until 3am and guests were treated to a raffle, a dinner, and performances by magicians.

A silent auction was held, with prizes including a London 2012 Olympic shirt, signed by the gold medal winning dressage team, and a holiday at a cottage in the Cotswolds.

Carol Andrews, owner of the stables in Wimbledon Village, and organiser of the ball, said: "Everyone had such fun. The evening went so quickly."

Money was raised for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and World Horse Welfare.

The stables has been collecting for the Royal Marsden for the last ten years, and in that time has raised more than £200,000 for the charity, which funds both cancer research and support for patients and their families.

World Horse Welfare, working to improve the lives of horses globally through hands-on care, education and train since 1927, is a new cause for Wimbledon Village Stables.

The charity event took place on Saturday, March 8.
