Former ravers are launching a family-friendly club where parents can bring their children.

Big Fish Little Fish (BFLF), who claim to be designed for the 2-4pm rather than 24 hour party people, is set to take over The Bedford, in Bedford, Balham, next March.

The event brings together DJs, craft activities for older children and a space for babies to chill out or play.

Highlights include a cake stall, inflatables, bubble machines and confetti cannons as well as a fully licensed bar for the adults.

Happy Monkey craft room is managed by a child craft expert, Captain Cookie, while a fancy dress theme is introduced for each event.

It lasts for just over two hours rather than all night long, with DJ Mixmaster Morris headlining the first event.

Previous events in Brixton and Crouch End have sold out, with plans to bring the concept to other parts of the capital.

Founder Hannah Saunders, deputy director of policing at the Home Office, came up with the idea of a place where music lovers of all ages could come together.

She fell in love with raving in 1988, and even though motherhood has curtailed her night-life she still has a love of dance-music culture.

Future events will see Raf Daddy of 2 Bears, Rob Da Bank and Sarah Cawood take to the decks.

The first Balham event is taking place on March 2, with plans to run monthly.
