Zac Goldsmith is calling on people to voice their opposition over plans to expand Heathrow before the Davies Commission releases its report tomorrow.

The Richmond Park MP was urged by the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, to encourage residents to make one last push against the “truly appalling” news that Sir Howard Davies may recommend “massive Heathrow expansion”.

The commission, under Sir Davies, is due to publish its interim report tomorrow but information leaked last week provoked a backlash.

The information suggested the report would set out three options for extra airport capacity in the south-east- a third Heathrow runway, a four runway Heathrow and another runway at both Heathrow and Gatwick.

Rumours abound that tomorrow’s report may retain options allegedly ruled out, in an attempt to give it some balance.

Mr Goldsmith said even a couple of lines from many people will help send a powerful message to Sir Howard.
