A new café has opened in Coulsdon Memorial Garden as part of a parks improvement scheme.
The Poppy Café, named after its memorial ground location, was officially opened on Saturday, ahead of Remembrance Day and will be run by Terri and Dawn Douglas.
The duo have leased the building following its refurbishment as part of the council's Parks to be Proud of project.
The café has a discovery trail theme designed to introduce visitors to everything on offer in the park including its playground and the war memorial.
There is indoor and outdoor seating available to customers and the café will be serving a full range of breakfasts, lunches, sandwiches, cakes, tea and coffees.
A wide range of sports and recreational activities are available in the grounds and there will be information available on nature conservation and the park’s history.
