Leroy Griffiths may be 36, but Leatherhead manager Richard Brady insists you could still mistake him for an academy player.

The veteran former Sutton United forward joined the Tanners last week and made his debut in the 4-0 FA Trophy preliminary round win over Harlow Town on Saturday.

And Brady believes he is as sprightly as he ever was.

"I was at QPR with Leroy so we have known each other for a while," he said.

"He wants to come and enjoy his football and on Saturday he worked as hard as he ever did.

"He is 36 but if you saw him in training he has got the enthusiasm of a 16-year-old."

Tom Bradbrook scored for the eighth game in a row on Saturday with Adam Burchall also finding the net and Kev Terry scoring twice.

Terry's first was an exquisite volley from the edge of the box and Brady was full of praise for the long-serving forward.

"It was a very good volley," he said.

"Once it left his boot it was one of those you knew was going in the goal.

"He is one of the older boys but a good lad and great to have in the dressing room."

That win set up a first qualifying round tie with Lewes on October 19, but before then Leatherhead face Biggleswade Town in the FA Cup third qualifying round this Saturday.

"Each game we play in the FA Cup we tend to have a what will be will be approach and we will certainly be giving it a go," added Brady.

"The club has always had an affiliation with the FA Cup and I have always enjoyed it. The boys will be up for it."
